After sharpening their sound on a duet of demos and adding singer Jander and bassist Sveinn, Nagelfar recorded their first base full-length record album, Hünengrab Im Herbst, in 1997, with hometown hero Andy Classen of Holy Moses famous person playacting as producer. This, along with its 1999 follow-up, Strontgorrth, showcased the band's uncompromising brand of larger-than-life, German-sung dark metal in all its misanthropical extremis, and the latter too introduced new members Zingultus (vocals) and Chaos (bass) to the squad. Nagelfar later signed with indie label Ars Metalli for the 2001 vent of their third and, as it turned out, terminal record album, Virus West, after which they quietly trenchant to go their forking ways.
